The Independent Living Program (ILP) assists current and former foster youth aged 15-21 to develop independent living skills and achieve educational/vocational goals to successfully transition to self-sufficiency. The program offers a variety of services covering a wide range of life skill topics, including:
- Budget/money management
- Self-esteem
- Education/Financial Aid
- Decision making
- Healthy relationships and lifestyles
- Housing
- Employment
- Health and nutrition
New Independent Living Resource Center
The Independent Living Resource Center is equipped with a cozy living room, kitchen, laundry facility and computer lab that allows youth to complete many tasks of daily living and obtain a hot meal. Free tutoring and counseling services and food and clothing donations, are also available.
Independent Living Program services are provided in collaboration with the Santa Cruz Community Counseling Center.
